GREEN ENERGY PETITION

Last semester you participated in a poll asking whether you would be willing to spend money on green energy. The response was overwhelmingly positive!

Now it’s time to take this to the highest level. Please sign our online petition to bring 100% green energy to UPS!!

Sign the Petition Now!

Over 20 student organizations, including ASUPS clubs and greek houses, have ratified resolutions calling upon Puget Sound to commit to purchasing 100% green energy. If your club hasn’t ratified the resolution yet, please contact us immediately for more information!

Step It Up! Tomorrow!

Tomorrow at 2pm there will be a Step It Up! action in downtown Seattle. People around the nation will be gathering in promiment places to call for an 80% reduction in carbon emissions by 2050 in the United States.

If you’re interested in travelling with other UPS students, please shoot an e-mail to epeirson@ups.edu. Hope to see you there!

WormWigwam.comThe verdict is in: the Sustainability Advisory Committee, along with Dining & Conference Services and Facilities Services, has agreed to fund our $5,400 vermicomposting project!

We’ll be purchasing 5 self-contained vermicomposting bins, or Worm Wigwams, and processing the entire pre-consumer food-waste stream at the SUB. That’s about 2 tons each week!

The work has just begun, however. It will take lots of tender-loving-care to get these wormies up to full munching capacity. So if you’re interested in getting your hands dirty, please contact one of our lovely team-members:
